I recently aquired a very nice R.Schaezlein & Sons buckle which contains 2 red stones set into rosettes on each side of a nice horse head. The rossettes and horse head are both gold filled and the buckle is sterling. It is also marked
1/1012KGF.

My question of anyone who might know is, are these stones likely to be glass, semi-precious, or precious?

Any help would be appreciated.

Great web site, glad I found it.

Thanks

Tom

Sorry, no help here. I know that a jeweler can do a very quick and easy test on the stones for you, and probably do it for free. Good luck.
